Services planned locally for Easter and more

Churches in and around Holyoke have a variety of services planned for Holy Week through Easter Sunday, April 17.

Cornerstone Ministry Church, 212 S. Interocean Ave., Holyoke, will be watching the Flatirons Community Church service at the Peerless Theatre on Easter Sunday at 9 a.m.

Fairfield Covenant Church, north of Paoli on County Road 40 between county roads 17 and 19, will meet on Easter Sunday at 10 a.m.

First Baptist Church, 1000 E. Johnson St., Holyoke, has planned a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, a sunrise service is set for 6:15 a.m., followed by a potluck breakfast as well as Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Vida Abundante will join FBC for a 10:30 a.m. service in both English and Spanish.

First Christian Church, 310 S. Interocean Ave., will begin its Easter Sunday worship service at 10 a.m.

First United Methodist Church, 230 E. Furry St., Holyoke, will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. The Good Friday service is at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Valley, 13000 County Road 53, Yuma. Easter Sunday will begin with a sunrise service at Mount Baldy, south of Paoli at county roads U and 54, at 5:45 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. service at Pleasant Valley. Holyoke’s Easter Sunday service starts at 11 a.m.

Holyoke Church of Christ, 105 W. Scheunemann St., Holyoke, will meet on Easter Sunday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Bible class at 10:30 a.m.

Seventh-day Adventist Church, 144 W. Gordon St., Holyoke, will meet Saturday at 11 a.m.

St. Patrick Catholic Church, 541 S. Interocean Ave., Holyoke, will have a Holy Thursday service at 7 p.m. The Good Friday service is at 7 p.m. An Easter vigil is set for Saturday at 8 p.m., and Mass on Easter Sunday begins at 8 a.m.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst and Venango, Nebraska, will have combined services for Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. in Venango and for Good Friday at 7 p.m. in Amherst. Easter Sunday services will be at 7 a.m. in Venango and at 9 a.m. in Amherst.

Zion Lutheran Church, 240 S. High School Ave., Holyoke, will meet for Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m., Good Friday at 3 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 9 a.m. The church is also holding noontime prayers Monday-Friday. Zion Lutheran Church Ministerio Hispano will have a service in Spanish on Easter Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
