Set sail with free events at Regent Park

Residents, family, friends and community members are all invited to “Seas the Day” aboard the USS Regent June 26-30 at Regent Park and Carriage House in Holyoke.
Monday, June 26, meet at 2:30 p.m. to get boarding passes, take photos, eat snacks and socialize on the boardwalk before setting off to sea. Tuesday, June 27, the anchor will drop at the Riviera Maya with an authentic Mexican buffet and festivities at 6 p.m.
The white sands of Cancun, Mexico, is the destination Wednesday, June 28. A barbecue will start the party at 6 p.m., followed by an outdoor movie at Regent Park. Bring lawn chairs, kick back and relax with a showing of “My Fair Lady,” provided by Phillips County Extension.
As the cruise heads back home, the ship’s casino will open at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 29, including a cocktail hour and a fried chicken dinner. Friday, June 30, the USS Regent will be welcomed back to America with desserts and a balloon release at 10:30 a.m. on the Regent Park patio.
Regent Park’s Nick Flaa said all of the residents’ regularly scheduled activities will continue throughout the week, but everyone is excited for the extra-special “Seas the Day” events and the chance to interact with friends and community members.
Flaa said as they brainstorm future activities for the residents, he is looking for locals who could share their hobbies and passions at Regent Park and Carriage House. For example, a guitarist could get some practice playing in front of a crowd, or a painter could set up an easel in the lobby for an afternoon.
