The show must go on!

    What this play within a play was lacking in good writing, acting skills and sound effects was made up with plenty of comedy.
    Audience members laughed until they almost cried in Phillips County Players’ stage performance of “Play On!” May 19-21 at the HHS auditorium.
    Co-directed by Penny Dockins and Luke Krogmeier and produced by Janel Wailes, the play depicted a dramatic group of community theater actors desperately trying to put on a murder mystery, and everything that can go wrong does go wrong!
    A novice playwright, played by Dolly Smith, keeps interfering with the play and its irritable director, played by Bob Brandt.
    Making their way through the disastrous — yet hilarious — show are actors played by Jerry Brandt, Amber Schroetlin, Kayla Marshall, Eric Conklin, Jair Jimenez and Janel Wailes.
    Meanwhile, the stage crew members, played by Zander Salyers and Pete Markle, are causing enough drama of their own.
