Conde, Perez to compete at nationals in San Diego

Shyanne Conde of Holyoke was awarded champion honors in the senior division of the Colorado Make-It-With-Wool state contest held Nov. 6 at the Riverdale Regional Park and Fairgrounds in Adams County.

Conde entered a camel-colored, 78% wool coat which she had constructed herself.

Contestants and spectators came from all across the state to participate in the day’s events.

Karla Perez of Wray took top honors in the junior division with her suit which she had constructed from sky blue and beige, plaid 100% wool fabric. Perez was awarded a new sewing machine from Above and Beyond Sewing and Vacuum of Thornton.

Conde and Perez will both represent the state of Colorado at the National Make-It-With-Wool Contest, being held in conjunction with the American Sheep Industry Convention in San Diego, California, in mid-January.
