State recognizes local human services with C-Stat award
For the sixth consecutive year, Phillips County Department of Human Services was recognized by the state for their performace and presented with the C-Stat award Thursday, Aug. 16.
The C-Stat system was devloped by the state to measure how well local departments of human services are handling the needs of their communities. Each month, counties report on how well they are meeting the benchmarks defined by C-Stat.
DHS director Penny Verhoeff said the county was informed of their selection for the award in June. The award specifically recognized the DHS’ timeliness in addressing food stamp applications, adult financial support applications, child support issues, and adult and child welfare issues.
