Support needed for adopt-a-family program

Zion Lutheran Church, in cooperation with Phillips County Department of Human Services, is asking community members to adopt a family this Christmas. Those interested should call Teri Waln at the church at 970-854-2615 by Monday, Nov. 29.

The church will provide the address, names and kids’ ages for a local individual or family. Participants can then purchase gifts, which will be added to items provided/gathered by the church — food, hygiene items, cleaning supplies and paper products.

These boxes can be picked up at the church on Wednesday, Dec. 15, from 1-4 p.m., or Thursday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m-4 p.m. so participants can deliver them to the adopted families the week before Christmas.

Zion Lutheran is also happy to accept any monetary donations for the program or volunteers to help fill boxes the morning of Dec. 15.
