SW Interocean paving stalls

Holyoke City Superintendent Mark Brown said construction on Southwest Interocean Drive is likely finished for the year, as falling temperatures threaten to interfere with paving the road’s new concrete surface.
Holyoke’s efforts to replace the asphalt on Southwest Interocean Drive with concrete began about two months ago. Although concrete is more expensive to apply than asphalt, it requires less maintenance over time.
Brown said barricades around the resurfaced portions of the street have since been removed, and the area is now open to traffic.
