Threat of rain doesn’t put a damper on Friday’s Hospice fundraiser

    It had been a few years since Hospice of the Plains held a fundraiser in Holyoke, but the organization was pleased to be back in the community June 22 for a barbecue and concert.
    Originally, it was intended to be an evening of music in the park, with dinner, homemade ice cream and pie. With weather to consider, the event was moved to the Holyoke High School old gym, but all the important details remained the same.
    A grant from the Johnson Foundation of the Rockies provided most of the food and the entertainment for the evening, which featured music by Joe Hall & Friends.
