Transportation summit set in Holyoke

    Progressive 15 will be hosting a transportation summit on the morning of Thursday, June 21, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke. This event is free to those attending who do not want to stay for lunch. There is a fee for those who wish to stay for lunch for further discussion and to listen to House of Representatives candidate Rod Pelton.
    Presentations will include information from the Colorado Department of Transportation on where the state is at now and how funds are allocated. Attendees will review Senate Bill 1 passed this year and see what it affords them in the way of funding.
    Rural transit and statewide transportation systems will be discussed as well as how this point was reached. Finally, discussion will be held on the initiatives that will be on the fall ballot. There will be time to include question-and-answer periods for each speaker.
