Trick-or-treaters are a treat for the eyes

Costumes delight at annual contest

Everything from beauties to beasts turned out for the 66th annual Halloween costume contest, sponsored by Holyoke
Lions Club. The Tuesday, Oct. 31, event held at the Holyoke JR/SR High School old gym provided a break from trick-or-treating and a chance for families to show off their costumes. Leo the Lion made an appearance, and Dennis Herman served as the emcee. Judges for the evening were Larry Stein and Wes and Lois White. Cash prizes were awarded for first-, second- and third-place winners in each of the 11 age groups, and every participant went home with a bag of treats!
