Trust Quietly finishes sewing project after 1,144 masks

After five weeks, volunteers of the Trust Quietly project sewed 1,144 homemade masks to give away to health care workers, first responders, at-risk individuals and the general public during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Trust Quietly will no longer be making masks because organizers were unable to purchase the elastic needed to make them. Their alternative — making cloth ties — helped them finish most of the mask orders, but it was difficult on their volunteers and sewing machines to continue in that manner.

“We have accomplished our goal and now pray God will see us through this time as we continue to quietly trust in his strength,” said a Facebook post on Sunday, April 26. Trust Quietly gave appreciation to all those who donated money, fabric, elastic and time.
