Tumbleson donates photo album to museum

Beverly Tumbleson of Berthoud donated her grandmother’s family photo album to Phillips County Museum this summer. The album is nearly 70 pages and is filled with family documents in addition to photos.

Tumbleson was born and raised in Holyoke. Her father was Wilbur Burchett, who was a meat cutter at the grocery store in Holyoke before going on to own a grocery store in Amherst.

Her family moved to Denver in 1942 but moved back to Holyoke in 1944. She went to school in Holyoke and moved to Longmont in 1966. Her father and her in-laws still lived in Holyoke at that time.

From there, Tumbleson moved to Montrose in 1999 and lived back in Holyoke from 2006-2011 before moving to the Front Range to be closer to her family.
