Veterans Day breakfast, program set for Nov. 12
A breakfast and program at Holyoke High School will be part of Holyoke’s commemoration of Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 12.
Holyoke JR/SR High School invites all veterans and their families to a breakfast from 7:30-8:45 a.m. in the school commons area. It will include bacon provided by Seaboard Foods and pancakes provided by the Village Inn in Sterling.
Immediately following the breakfast, the public is encouraged to attend the Veterans Day program at 9 a.m. in the high school auditorium.
The featured speaker is Jon Kleve, a 1997 HHS graduate and an Air Force veteran who served in Iraq, Central America and the Philippines.
Voice of Democracy winners Corben McCallum, Dylan Miles and Cash Adler will be presenting speeches. Patriot’s Pen winners will also be announced at Monday’s program, and the high school select choir, high school band and Holyoke third-graders will also be performing music.
The program will conclude with a performance of taps by senior Jillian Hunter.
