Visitors restricted at hospital due to influenza

Melissa Memorial Hospital is committed to the safety and well-being of patients, visitors and staff. In an effort to prevent the spread of the influenza virus, MMH is taking temporary precautions by limiting visitors to the hospital.
The measures effective at MMH include:
—Visitor restriction in patient care areas such as patient rooms, therapy areas and outpatient service areas (emergency department, medical imaging and laboratory).
—Children ages 12 and under will not be permitted to visit in patient care areas in the hospital. (Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis only after the child has been provided with a respiratory mask and gloves and observes strict droplet precautions during the visit.)
—Patients who schedule outpatient appointments or are referred to the hospital side for labs or imaging services will also be asked to come without their children unless the appointment is for the children.
