Voice finalist uses voice to give life, offer hope

    It’s irony that Dr. Biff Gore was a finalist on the popular TV show “The Voice,” because he is certainly using his voice in a powerful way to bring change for the sanctity of life.
    The soul-singing blues/R&B songwriter brought his message of hope to Holyoke through words and song at the “Fountain of Life” banquet for A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center Saturday, Jan. 28, at Phillips County Event Center.
    “The mouth of the righteous is the fountain of life,” Gore quoted from Proverbs.
    “When you spend time with God, you begin to speak like him and can be a life-giver,” he said.
    As the president of Colorado Right to Life and an associate pastor at Highline Community Church in the Denver area, Gore encouraged everyone to use their voices to be life-givers to those around them or on a bigger scale, like by running for political offices.
    It’s up to the community to help provide the three fundamental parts of life. “When you’re hungry, you need to be fed. When you’re sick, you want to be healed. When you’re under attack, you want to be delivered,” said Gore.
    He paralleled that with these three things: “We need to educate people around us about why life is precious. We need to be embracing women who are hurting (there is forgiveness at the cross). We need to be giving the message of hope.”
    “We have a great task in front of us,” he said.
    
    Pregnancy center provides hope
    Saturday evening’s banquet raised funds for A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado. Two additional events were also held in Yuma and Snyder.
