Waln severely injured in ATV incident

Beau Waln, 37, suffered severe injuries, including compression fractures in the neck and a minor skull fracture, from an ATV accident early Sunday morning, Aug. 27.
Feeling extremely fortunate and very appreciative of prayers, Waln anticipated release from North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley early this week.
Helping a friend check sprinklers around 5 a.m. near Holyoke on Sunday, Waln was involved in an ATV rollover, according to his wife, Carrie.
Waln was taken to Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke, then flown to NCMC.
Carrie said he sustained a minor skull fracture, with a 10-inch laceration on his head that required sutures. Three compression fractures in his neck will require him to wear a neck brace for a minimum of 8-12 weeks, she added.
Additionally, he severely injured his left arm and has some broken ribs.
