Webinar to cover kidney health and diabetes

    Kidney health and diabetes will be the focus of a CSU Extension webinar from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, featuring Dr. Michael Shomaker.
    In Phillips County, it will be broadcast live at the Phillips County Event Center Ortner Room in Holyoke and at the Haxtun Community Center.
    There is no cost to attend the webinar, but registration is requested for adequate seating and handouts. Call Tracy Trumper at 970-854-3616 to register.
    Diabetes has many possible short-term and long-term effects on the body. Kidney disease is a possible long-term complication associated with diabetes. Diabetic nephropathy or kidney disease can lead to impaired kidney function, dialysis and/or kidney transplant. Therefore, proper management of diabetes is crucial to preventing this long-term complication of this disease.
