You’ve been aped!
What started out as a donation to Baby Bear Hugs has become a fun community event! After the nonprofit organization received a colorful ape named Auggie and a banana, creativity and a bit of goofiness followed. The duo soon was seen around town spreading smiles. Photos of Auggie started making their way back to Baby Bear Hugs in addition to rumors of how he had money to buy more bananas, a ransom being paid and how he got invited into homes for snuggles during storms. The ape and banana are shown here with some monkey friends, from left, Max Giles, Alicia Salas and Lily Salas. Baby Bear Hugs’ goal was to have some fun and spread the word about the organization, but it received so much more in return! Hopefully Auggie will make another appearance next summer. Baby Bear Hugs serves families with children prenatal to age 3.
