The S.T. Thompson house still stands at 440 S. Phelan Ave. When Samuel built the house in 1907, it was described in The State Herald as an eight-room house, “conveniently planned, neatly finished and supplied with a good heating plant.” The family moved to Holyoke in 1901, and Samuel served as mayor from 1908-1909 while in partnership with G.L. King in the Thompson & King lumber yard until 1910.
