
The first poppy sold in Holyoke on Saturday, Nov. 10, 1962, in the annual poppy sale conducted by the VFW and auxiliary is attached to the lapel of Holyoke Mayor L. L. Kunkel’s coat by Mrs. Dormand Gaunt, a member of the VFW post. At his left is Mrs. Marvin Boller, president of the VFW auxiliary. The child is Debbie Boller, daughter of the Bollers.
