The former home of W.E. “Will” and Catherine Heginbotham now serves as Heginbotham Library. Will Heginbotham, prominent banker and philanthropist, died April 13, 1968. The terms of his will directed that his $2.5 million estate be placed in trust for “the betterment and improvement of the people of Phillips County” and that his home, built in 1921 for $75,000, be used for the good of the public and not sold. The home officially opened its doors as the “new” library on Oct. 5, 1969. — Source: Phillips County Museum
