Recipe Train
Sometimes it’s the little things that you look forward to the most. Debby Banaka found this caramel nut pretzel rod recipe in a magazine years ago and made them for her father’s 80th birthday party. “It was a huge hit,” she said. Try this easy sweet and salty treat at your next party!
Caramel Nut Pretzel Rods
1 large package rod pretzels
1 package of Kraft caramels
1 can of salted party peanuts
Chocolate chips or almond bark for drizzling
Crush or coarsely chop peanuts. Put on a large plate or in a pan and set aside.
In a sauce pan or small crock pot, melt caramels.
In a bowl in the microwave or in a double boiler, melt chocolate chips or almond bark. Lay out wax paper for pretzel rods.
Dip each pretzel rod about halfway up its length in melted caramel, then immediately roll in crushed peanuts.
Lay pretzels on wax paper to dry. Drizzle with melted chocolate or bark.
