Students sell 639 tickets for Smorgasbord dinner
Musicians ranging from grades 5-12, and beyond, performed for a full house at the annual Music Parents Association Smorgasbord Concert: Music Inspires, Friday, Feb. 24, at the HHS auditorium.
Students sold 639 pre-sale tickets to the Smorgasbord dinner at the elementary school, preceding the concert. Additional tickets were sold at the door.
Tayla Martin, who played flute in the elementary band, won a prize for selling 23 tickets. Six students were recognized for selling 11-20 tickets and 17 students sold 10 tickets each.
Whitney Powell and Emily Krogmeier were also thanked for their help preparing all the ticket packets.
Emily Krogmeier, a band and select choir member, spoke on behalf of the students, thanking the Music Parents Association for their continued support.
The Smorgasbord dinner and concert is the Music Parents Association’s fundraiser that makes all their financial support of the elementary, junior high and high school choir and band programs possible, creating opportunities for students to pursue their musical passion.
