Brendan Mayden signs with Nebraska Wesleyan University
Amidst much excitement and support from his peers, family and Holyoke High School staff, Brendan Mayden signed a letter of intent to play football at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska.
His parents, Schad and Melissa Mayden, as well as HHS athletic director Sandra Rahe and coaches John Zilla and Cody Jiru were gathered at the school Thursday, March 23, as he signed.
Mayden played football at HHS as a middle linebacker for four years. As a sophomore he received All Conference honorable mention. In his junior and senior years he made All Conference and earned All State honorable mention. He was also recognized by his team as the defensive player of the year for each of his final two years on the HHS football team.
While attending Nebraska Wesleyan University, Mayden indicated that he plans to study biology.
