Dragons smoke up the track at home invite

Holyoke hosted its second meet in two weeks Saturday, April 8, with the Dragon Invite. This meet was much smaller than the March 30 Holyoke Invite, allowing more athletes a chance to shine.
The girls team placed fourth out of eight competing teams with 96 points, while the boys finished fifth out of seven with 63.
“It was a great day for a track meet, and both boys and girls were able to get some good times in,” said coach Dusty Sprague. “We are trying to continue improving our times and marks to be competitive on a state level.”
For the girls, first-place finishes were earned by Taeryn Trumper, Emily Jelden, Jacky Mosqueda and Emma Roll in the 4x100 meter relay and by Trumper in the 100 meter dash.
Trumper, Jelden, Brook Prottsman and Jacky Mosqueda placed second in the 4x200 meter relay, just :00.13 away from first place with their 1:54.71 race time, and Jelden was also second in the pole vault.
