All 4 HHS varsity golfers place in top 10 at Brush
Despite just missing another team victory, Holyoke girls golf saw all four varsity golfers place in the top 10 individually and took second as a team.
Monday, May 1, five teams competed in Brush. Brush’s team finished first, followed by Holyoke, Wray, Yuma and Burlington.
Coach Nick Flaa noted it had been almost a week since the golfers hit any shots because of the weather, but the team “did compete and found a way to place second as a team, losing by one shot to the home team Brush.”
Individually is where Holyoke’s golfers shone. Grace Dille placed second, with a 108; Dominique Penzing took sixth, 115; Regan Van Overbeke was eighth, 118; and Brenna Sullivan finished ninth, 119.
Representing Holyoke JV, Anna Jelden finished third, shooting 66, and Tayler Hale 87.
Upcoming action
HHS golf is scheduled to compete in a final league tournament in Wray Thursday, May 4.
The regional tournament will be held Monday, May 8, in Windsor.
