Larimer County reservoir gets construction approval
Sen.Cory Gardner (R-CO) applauded the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announcement that they have approved Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District’s Windy Gap Firming Project, which will allow for construction of Chimney Hollow Reservoir.
Initial phases of construction for the reservoir, which will be built southwest of Loveland in Larimer County, will likely begin in late 2018 or 2019. It will store approximately 90,000 acre-feet of water.
During his time in the House of Representatives and since being elected to the U.S. Senate, Gardner has been a leading voice to move forward additional water storage projects in northern Colorado, including Chimney Hollow Reservoir.
