Families, individuals can find ‘A Healthier Weigh’ this summer
“A Healthier Weigh” is a 12-week program to promote health and fitness for individuals and the family unit. A new summer challenge will begin with a weigh-in for adults Monday-Wednesday, June 19-21.
People can participate in the free program as a family of four adults/children, as a team of four adults or as an individual.
Starting Sunday, June 25, and continuing through Monday, Sept. 18, team members will record their daily dedicated fitness activity in minutes and report to the team captain their weekly totals.
The goal is to meet or exceed the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s recommended physical activity benchmarks for each participant’s age group.
Research shows that individuals are more successful with their health, fitness or nutrition goals if they are engaged with others through the process. In addition, families are healthier if they plan, eat and are active together.
A Healthier Weigh Summer Challenge will support families and individuals in meeting their fitness goals, along with providing tips and resources to help improve nutrition.
