Lopez Party Rentals brings bounce houses to town

    Local birthday parties, family reunions and graduation celebrations just got a bit more interesting, thanks to the opening of Lopez Party Rentals and its addition of bounce houses to the Holyoke party scene.
    Owner Lizde Lopez, a Holyoke resident for over a decade, saw a need that wasn’t being met, and she decided to do something about it. It was her own son’s birthday party that revealed how difficult it was to rent bounce houses. When Brandon was turning 6, he wanted one for his party, but Lopez found that she would need to rent it from a Denver company to make that happen. With most businesses charging hourly for the use of bounce houses, renting from someplace nearly three hours away from home isn’t really feasible.
    That’s when Lopez began to think about offering that service locally, and after seeing the cost of renting from the metro area, she wanted to make it an obtainable flat rate for her fellow small-town residents.
    Although the inflatables were the inspiration for the business venture, Lopez Party Rentals also offers helium tanks, tables and chairs, and canopies. With her current stock, Lopez said she can accommodate parties of about 100 people, but she plans to expand in the future.
    Two of the bounce houses are 15 feet by 15 feet. The third has an attached slide and pool that can be used either wet or dry. The largest party tent is 20 feet by 40 feet, and the 80 cubic foot helium tank can inflate over 100 balloons. Delivery, setup and pickup are all part of the services Lopez offers.
