On a backdrop of amber waves of grain, three American flags welcome the Independence Day holiday at Rick and Kristi Krueger’s house in the Amherst area last weekend. Local producers are celebrating the Fourth of July with a busy wheat harvest, while families across the country enjoy America’s iconic barbecues, fireworks and summertime fun.
