Once it’s determined whether financial contributions or supplies are needed, a collection will be started by local churches to aid Texans impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Students and teachers in Holyoke School District will not have class Monday, Sept. 4, because of Labor Day.
3 candidates file for school board seats
Incumbent Pat Wiebers, Trampas Hutches and Sue Razo have filed nomination petitions as candidates for the three open seats on the Holyoke Re-1J Board of Education, according to election official Brenda Krueger. The deadline to file a nomination petition to be a candidate for the Nov. 7 election is Friday, Sept. 1, at 3 p.m. at the Re-1J administration office.
Homecoming parade entries due Sept. 11
The 2017 HHS “Imagine the Dragons” homecoming parade is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. Entry forms must be submitted by Monday, Sept. 11, and can be picked up and dropped off at the HHS office or emailed to powellan@hcosd.org. Include the name of the organization, sponsors and a brief description and comments for the announcer.
