It took four sets and it was a little stressful, but HHS pulled off a win over Idalia: 26-24, 25-12, 22-25 and 25-23.
Coach Hannah Petersen said middle hitter Josie Herman was injured during the game, so it took some time for the team to adjust and get her position covered.
“Girls were stepping up and playing positions they weren’t 100 percent comfortable with,” she said. “It was great that they were able to overcome.”
In team stats, Grace Dille had the most serves with 22, and she and Savannah Burris each landed three aces.
Dille led attacks with 37, including 22 kills. Kyra Loutensock and Kaylee Camblin each had three blocks for the Dragons.
Camblin grabbed 25 digs, and Emily Jelden received the serve 17 times. Burris set up the ball 88 times for 32 assists for kills.
