Hospital foundation hosts recognition event
    Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation invites the community to its Legacy of Thanks celebration Sunday, Nov. 12, at Melissa Memorial Hospital. A light lunch begins at noon followed by a 1 p.m. program. MMHF will be honoring donors, medical professionals, volunteers and scholarship recipients.
    
GPRC/Peerless meeting is next Thursday
    Annual meeting for Golden Plains Recreation Center/Peerless Center is Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. in the theater. Patrons are invited to hear a financial/volunteer report, get a tour of the new game room and remodeled dance floor, and enjoy free popcorn. Out of the required nine board positions, three are open for election (three-year terms). The board is not limited to nine members, so additional people can also be nominated and would not be required to serve three-year terms.
    
Decorate gingerbread houses Monday
    The annual Kids’ Holiday will be Monday, Nov. 13, from 1-4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Holyoke. Kids in preschool through sixth grade are invited to decorate gingerbread houses and watch Christmas movies. Register by Friday, Nov. 10, by calling Phillips County Extension at 970-854-3616.
    
Pheasants Forever banquet set for Saturday
    Phillips County Pheasants Forever is hosting its annual banquet Saturday, Nov. 11, at Phillips County Event Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
    
Students get break next Monday
    Holyoke students will not have class Monday, Nov. 13, due to a teacher inservice.
