Mark calendar for lighting contest
The 26th annual holiday lighting/decorating contest is set for Tuesday, Dec. 12. It’s simple: To be included for judging, turn on lights and/or have decorations up at 6 p.m. that evening. Judging will be based on originality, decorative effect and overall effect.
Any display within Holyoke city limits or within a half-mile radius is eligible. (Last year’s winners are not eligible this year.)
To make sure judges don’t miss you or something you’ve admired, call contest sponsors at the Holyoke City office at 970-854-2266 or The Holyoke Enterprise at 970-854-2811 by Monday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three displays.

For the holidays, organizers would like to expand the project and would like addresses for all active duty servicepersons. Email names and addresses to deb.williamson@bankofthewest.com or call 970-854-2297.
