JV boys basketball loses 2 in Byers

    Holyoke High School boys JV basketball saw a 58-21 loss to Strasburg and a 57-20 loss to Byers in last weekend’s Corridor Classic Tournament in Byers. The Vanguard School beat Strasburg for the JV tournament victory.

    Against Strasburg on Dec. 1, the Dragons were simply outscored in each quarter, but the game served as a good introduction to high school basketball for the young team.
    Strasburg jumped ahead early and led by 10 after one quarter, but Holyoke stayed in the game. Ultimately, Strasburg had consistently high-scoring quarters, and Holyoke struggled to make their foul shots.
    Isaiah Houghtelling led the team with eight points, followed by Colby Purkeypile with six. Matt Yost scored four and Jarrett Woodhead three.
