Police department training could help save lives in emergencies
Holyoke Police Chief Doug Bergstrom, at left, and Officer Mary Seeley, center, receive instruction from paramedic Lisa Werts Monday, Jan. 22, during training for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillators and first aid. The training takes place every other year. All Holyoke police officers are American Heart Association-certified to respond to 911 calls within the city and provide assistance until emergency medical services arrive.
