Visibility limited

Wind, snow and drooping hats share the blame

While most were warm indoors during the Jan. 21 storm, some kids just couldn’t wait to play in the snow.  Harper Sprague didn’t seem to mind the falling snow, but her hat, scarf and gloves posed something of a challenge as she began constructing a snowman. Holyoke received 6.4 inches of snow Sunday, Jan. 21. Windy conditions created large drifts, and visibility was extremely limited at times, leading to Highway 385 being closed overnight from Julesburg to Wray. Plows took to the streets early Monday, but students in Holyoke schools got to sleep in on their first snow day of the year.
