Caucuses are next Tuesday
Phillips County Democratic party caucus is set for Tuesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Paoli Community Center. The Republican caucus is the same evening. Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8 will meet in Holyoke at SunSet View Community Center in Holyoke at 7 p.m. Precincts 5, 6 and 7 will meet at the Haxtun Community Center at 7 p.m.
Elementary art show travels back in time
Looking at art through history, young artists at Holyoke Elementary School have discovered the ancient world by trying artistic styles and techniques of cultures long ago. Their creations will be on display Monday-Tuesday, March 5-6, from 4-8 p.m. at the elementary gym during parent/teacher conferences. Art stations, interactive displays and refreshments are all part of the show.
St. Patrick’s event to raise money for cancer
Ballyneal Golf and Hunt Club will be celebrating cancer survivors at its St. Patrick’s sunset social and cancer reasearch fundraising dinner Saturday, March 17. Colby Purkeypile will provide the entertainment while attendees enjoy Irish drink specials. Happy hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. With auction items donated by Ballyneal and local businesses, a silent auction will run from 6-8 p.m. with the live auction beginning at 8 p.m. Proceeds will go to Relay For Life. The event was inspired by Ballyneal accountant ChristiAnne Gibson’s fight with cancer. To reserve a spot, call 970-854-5900, ext. 1.

Computers Etc. has closed its storefront at 218 E. Denver St. Owner Lori Nelson will continue to order merchandise that can be shipped directly to the customer.
