Free public information officer course at NJC is filling up quickly

The Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is putting on a free G290 course Thursday-Friday, April 19-20, at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling. G290 is a basic public officer course. The target audience is emergency responders/receivers, law enforcement and public information/media specialists, as well as those working in emergency management and public safety communications.
This course is an updated, shortened and revised version of the previous G290 course with an emphasis on skills development. It also addresses the impact of technology on emergency public information and offers options that allow the States to tailor instructional methodology to meet their needs while consistently meeting the course learning objectives.
The two-day course will be held at the NJC Hays Student Center ballroom from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and both days are required. It is limited to 30 students, and space has already started to fill up.
