PC Raceway really does hope to open Saturday at noon

With three postponements of season-opening racing, Phillips County Raceway is hopeful that the weather forecast is in its favor as racers are once again scheduled to open the 2018 season in Holyoke Saturday, April 28, at noon.
Weather has hampered racing in the whole area, and Raceway promoter Joe Bellm said that everyone is trying to play catch-up with their points for the season.
As a result, three races are scheduled in 24 hours this weekend at the tracks in Holyoke, North Platte, Nebraska, and Fort Morgan.
Starting at PC Raceway, modifieds, sport mods, stock cars, hobby stocks, dwarfs and sport compacts will begin racing at noon Saturday, April 28.
Due to HHS prom activities at the Phillips County Event Center Saturday evening, Bellm is shooting for the local show to be done by 5 p.m.
Bellm has been in touch with Terry Fletcher of North Platte, and they’ve agreed to run the same order of events at both tracks, allowing each division to go from Holyoke to North Platte, where races are set to begin at 7 p.m.
The final event of the trio of activities will start at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan.
Racers will be vying for valuable IMCA national, regional, state and local points for the year.
