Pride of Lions gets Fishin’ Hole job done
In typical Lions Club fashion, members were out in full force last week to get a big job done. The Lions Club Fishin’ Hole sustained damage on the north side of the island in a tornado a few years ago. Having overcome a few setbacks along the way, the club was finally able to make the necessary repairs, funded by both Holyoke Lions Club and a grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. On April 26, a crane was used to move load after load of dirt, and Lions Club members filled in the damaged area. New riprap was then added along that edge. Finally, the planks on the platform were replaced to keep the pond functional and looking good.
