Shield 616 fundraiser reaches 77% of goal

    Holyoke Lions Club, partnering with Shield 616 in a fundraising effort to provide all Phillips County law enforcement officers with a Shield 616 armor package, reached 77 percent of its goal this week.
    With a goal of $16,800, a total of $12,887 had been donated as of Tuesday, May 8, according to Ivan Wiebke, who initiated the campaign idea.
    Just under $4,000 short of the goal, Wiebke is encouraged and appreciative of the community’s support.
