This two-story frame building, hastily constructed as a hotel on the corner of Denver Street and Baxter Avenue in Holyoke’s boom days, served as the first Phillips County Courthouse, from July 19, 1889-September 1904. The building was leased from Wm. Clemmons for a couple years before he sold it to the County for $850 in 1901. George W. Garland purchased the building April 2, 1906, and it was used by him until he tore it down in 1929 to make way for a new garage building. — Source: Phillips County Museum
