Brush up on primary election bios
Ballots for the primary election will be mailed this week and are due back to the Phillips County clerk’s office by Tuesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. The Holyoke Enterprise has compiled an election guide, including bios for the three contested races in Phillips County (commissioner, treasurer and sheriff). The online-only edition can be seen here: https://etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Holyoke1//Magazine220766/Full/in...
Countywide cleanup days are this week
Phillips County is sponsoring countywide cleanup days for rural residents Friday-Saturday, June 8-9. The county landfill will accept metal and trees as well as appliances without Freon if tagged by a certified technician. Other items will be accepted at the regular charge.
Get animal licenses, vaccinations Saturday
As a joint project between the City of Holyoke and Phillips County, an animal clinic is set for Saturday, June 9, from 9-11 a.m. at Holyoke Vet Service.
City ordinance requires all dogs harbored within the City be licensed. Dogs need to be vaccinated every other year with antirabies vaccine, and proof from a licensed veterinarian is necessary before the City dog license is issued. It’s also strongly encouraged that all dogs and cats within Phillips County be vaccinated.
For information on the animal clinic or for pet records, contact Holyoke Vet Service at 970-854-3800 prior to Saturday.
County fair booklets now available
Get ready for the July 24-29 “Small Town Showdown” Phillips County Fair by picking up a fair booklet from businesses around the county. They include a schedule, open class entries, parade details and more.
