Kitties and puppies frolic about the library at summer reading program
Fully embracing her kitty ears and face paint, Shiloh Linne-Speidel slinks through the crowd of children, meowing as she goes. She and the other girls and boys at the Heginbotham Library’s summer reading program had the choice of being a kitty or puppy at the June 20 session. Throughout this month, kids from 2 years old through fourth grade have been participating in the program weekly. This year’s theme is “Puppy and Kitty Tales.” Of course there’s plenty of reading, but kids have also been treated to snacks, games, crafts and special guests. This year’s program concludes June 27 with a “pet adoption,” where stuffed animals will be given to the kids.
