Lyft expansion comes to Sterling
STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, July 3 — Lyft, an on-demand transportation company based in San Francisco, California, has expanded services to a number of rural towns in Colorado including Sterling, Fort Morgan and Brush.
According to a company press release, Lyft services have been available in Denver and the surrounding areas since 2014, and recently expanded to include the entire state.

Brown is wrestling coach of the year
WRAY GAZETTE, July 4 — Due to the success of the 2017-18 Wray High School wrestling team, head coach Matt Brown was honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame-Colorado Chapter as its 2A/3A Coach of the Year at an honors banquet. The award was presented to Brown by Hall of Fame coach Bob Smith, who also coached Brown in high school.
A lifetime resident of Wray, Brown has been the Eagles wrestling coach for the past 11 seasons. Prior to coaching in Wray, Brown coached in Holyoke for five years and in Yuma for two.

Sunday morning accident claims life of 33-year-old
IMPERIAL REPUBLICAN, July 5 — A 33-year-old man living in southwest rural Chase County, Nebraska, died early Sunday in an ATV rollover accident near the Chase/Dundy County, Nebraksa, line.
Chase County Sheriff Kevin Mueller said Justin McRoberts died at the scene when the Polaris Ranger he was a passenger in rolled near the intersection of 315 Avenue and 726 Road.
The driver, Devon Barrington, 34, was transported to a Denver trauma center in a life flight helicopter that landed at the accident scene. Barrington is a farm/feedlot worker employed by Bob Milner of rural Champion, Nebraska.

County delays industrial park OK
STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, July 5 — A proposed plat for Platte Valley Industrial Park needs more work before the county will approve it.
That was the decision Tuesday morning as the Logan County Board of Commissioners postponed for two weeks a decision on the seven lots that abut businesses along U.S. Highway 6 between the Chestnut Street overpass and the South Platte River.

WRAY GAZETTE, July 4 — Agriculture has evolved into a high tech business that relies on computers, satellites and drones to manage crops and other resources. To support this critical industry, Morgan Community College has launched a precision agriculture program to help current and future farmers maximize their operations.
