All-Holyoke picnic Aug. 4
Anyone with Holyoke-area ties is invited to an all-Holyoke picnic in the Dogwood table area at E.B. Raines Jr. Memorial Park in Northglenn Saturday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
This is the fifth straight year for this picnic. Organizers are members of the HHS Class of 1964. They enjoyed their 50-year class reunion in Holyoke in May of 2014, and that’s where the idea for an all-area picnic ignited. Such a great turnout was reported for the last four years’ all-Holyoke events that they’re hoping to make this one bigger and better.
However, chief organizer Rick Nierman has announced that it’s time to pass the baton. As of the Aug. 4 picnic, he’s retiring from picnic planning.
The picnic is for anyone who has lived here, grew up here, has relatives here or just knows someone from the Holyoke area.
Those attending should take a picnic basket. Plates, plasticware and sodas will be provided, or people can take their own drink. Some seating will be available, but it is recommended that chairs, blankets and/or card tables be taken.
