Pencils and paintbrushes are pushed aside for summer art camp

    Pushing the limits of what’s traditionally thought of as art, kids did some outside-the-box projects at art camp last week. From July 9-11, Jade Goldenstein hosted two separate art camps — one for students going into grades 1-4 and another for those in grades 5-8.
    While they were still challenged to apply skills and theories typically used in drawing or painting, participants got to try some unique, new methods — the messier, the better.
    For the younger students, projects included such things as making colored leaf prints, finding bugs to model collages after, using shaving cream to create marbled prints and painting with their feet.
