Grand champs rewarded at fair
Despite a couple of rain showers and a hailstorm, another Phillips County Fair is history, as the July 24-29 event is in the books.
Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion honors from animals to cooking to ag mechanics and everything in between have been awarded to 4-H and FFA members.
Kylie Donovan and Kaitlyn Kent are recipients of $250 scholarships sponsored by Zeiler-Owens-Lindsay VFW Post 6482 and Holyoke American Legion Post 90. Donovan was the senior overall general projects award winner, while Kent won Grand Champion honors in senior round robin livestock showmanship.
The Holyoke Enterprise will be publishing a special section with full results of these champion honors, as well as all participant honors from the 2018 county fair.
This special section commemorative piece will be inserted in the Aug. 16 edition of the Enterprise. It will include photos of the Grand Champs and Reserve Grand Champs with their projects, as well as full results from each project area.
In addition, the open class results will be published as part of the special section.
