Sexual offender passes through

    Russell Allen Larson, a repeat sex offender and felon, has reportedly left town after registering in Holyoke on Aug. 15 and being accused of suspicious activity near Holyoke JR/SR High.
    Larson had resided in Haxtun before registering in Holyoke. Holyoke Police Chief Doug Bergstrom said that Larson left town of his own volition at the end of last week.
    The 56-year-old offender is described as being 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Identifying marks include scars on his cheek, elbow, arm and hand, and tattoos on both arms.
    A local parent said their daughter was approached by Larson on Aug. 21 at the northwest corner of Holyoke JR/SR High. Larson yelled at the girl from a van and offered her a cellphone, and the girl ran away.
    The parent said other children had seen Larson circling the school before in the van as well as on a bike.
